Home Tour: Layered in Love
I’m so excited to finally share this project with you because it's one that's especially close to my heart.
It's our home.
When Rich and I moved into our Pacifica home, we weren't just looking for a place to live. We wanted to create a home together in every sense of the word.
A place for slow mornings with coffee, dinner parties with friends, movie nights on the sofa or in the backyard, evenings listening to records, and all the ordinary moments that end up becoming the ones you remember most.
So we took our time.
When you first walk in, this is what greets you. We found the vintage rug at Stuff in the East Bay, instantly fell in love with the peacock cabinet, and of course I had to add a plant. It's a small space, but it makes me smile every time I come home.
Over here is our little music corner. Music has always been a big part of our home, so instead of hiding our records away, we decided to display them as art. The record cabinet was another piece we couldn't pass up, and of course, I had to add a few plants.
This is probably where you'll find us most evenings. The rug was one of the very first pieces we chose, and it became the inspiration for the entire color palette. We wanted a sofa we could really live on, so the chaise and performance fabric were must-haves, especially with a dog and the occasional red wine spill!
The original mid-century boomerang coffee table was an Alameda Flea Market treasure and one of our favorite vintage finds. We collected the pillows over time, and they became the perfect playful way to layer in even more color and pattern.
This hanging chair was a bit of an unexpected addition, but it's become one of everyone's favorite places to sit. The artwork above it is original from the 1970s and was another fun garage sale find. And yes...another plant.
This chair was another great Alameda Flea Market find. It's an original mid-century piece that had been beautifully reupholstered. The artwork is another favorite Alameda find. I've had it for about 15 years, and it's traveled with me from home to home ever since. Add an animal-print pillow, a few more plants, and our colorful rug, and this little corner feels so us.
This table has hosted everything from quiet weeknight dinners to big gatherings with friends and family. It seats six every day, but extends to fit around 14 people, which has made it perfect for dinner parties and holidays. Some of our favorite memories in this house have been made gathered around it.
Little by little, our home became a reflection of who we are.
I think that's one of the biggest misconceptions about creating a beautiful home. People often think it has to happen all at once.
But I've found the opposite is usually true.
The most soulful spaces are layered with love, collected over time, and shaped by the people who live there.
That's exactly what Layered in Love is all about, and I'm so happy to finally invite you inside.
