3 ways to add more joy into your home (this weekend)

Overwhelmed by your home? Let’s fix that.

If you’ve been walking through your front door and feeling anything but at ease, this post is for you. A joyful home isn’t about perfection or Pinterest-worthy design - it’s about how your space feels.

This weekend, try these three powerful steps to reset your home and infuse it with a whole lot more joy (and a whole lot less chaos).

1. Reimagine What Home Means to You

Before you move a single pillow, pause and reflect.

How do you want to feel in your home? Calm? Inspired? Cozy? Free?
What actually makes you feel that way?

Take a few minutes to journal on these prompts:

  • What does home mean to me right now?

  • How do I want to feel in my space?

  • What’s the difference between how it currently feels and how I want it to feel?

We often approach decorating with a vision of how we want our space to look—but that can lead to chasing trends and buying things that don’t actually support our lifestyle or emotional needs.

This step is about shifting from appearance to experience. From material wants to emotional alignment.

2. Clear the Chaos

Joy and clutter don’t coexist well.

This is your permission slip to let go of what’s not serving you. Not just physically—but energetically.

Here’s your simple 3-step action plan:

  • Broken? → Trash it.

  • Unused? → Donate it.

  • Chaotic? → Reset it.

Grab a box (or two), move room by room, and remove anything broken, unused, or simply not bringing you ease. And don’t leave it in the trunk—drop it off that same day. This energetic clearing is what makes space for what’s next.

3. Add In Joy

Now that you’ve cleared the weight, it’s time to invite joy back in.

Think small, soulful touches that make you feel good:

  • A vase of fresh flowers

  • A candle that smells like a warm memory

  • A throw pillow in your favorite color

  • Art that speaks to your soul

Let joy lead the way. Let feeling guide your design choices.

And most importantly, keep going—keep letting go of anything that doesn’t align with the way you want to live.

That’s the real secret to creating a space that supports, nourishes, and inspires you.

You deserve a home that feels like a deep exhale.

Not perfect. Just authentic. Joyful. Yours.

Try these steps this weekend and notice the shift. And if you do, I’d love to hear how it feels. 💛
